Emergency manager explains siren call keys, sirens will go off Aug. 3

Katheryn Benton, emergency manager for Brule County, explained the siren call keys and noted the different sirens will be activated on Monday, Aug. 3.
Automatic and manual activations will occur on Monday and include VM, voice and sequence.
“This just gives the general public an idea of the different kinds of sirens and what they mean,” states Emergency Manager Benton. “It is more of a refresher in that by sounding off the sirens, people will hear the different tones.”
