Corps of Engineers coordinates with tribes closure of boat ramps
The United States Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, in coordination with the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe and Lower Brule Sioux Tribe closed the boat ramps near Big Bend Dam, near Fort Thompson, effective Friday, April 3, announced Jacki Bultsma, deputy operations project manager with the Army Corps of Engineers.
“The closure is to assist local efforts in combating the spread of COVID-19 within the local communities,” said Deputy Operations Project Manager Bultsma.
The boat ramps that will be closed include Right Tailrace, Left Tailrace, Spillway Dike, Old Fort Thompson, Good Soldier and North Shore.
Shore fishing is still allowed.
