Discussion was held on code enforcement when members of the council for the City of Kimball met Monday, Jan. 6, at the city office in Kimball.
No financial reports were presented as the council had discussed the financials at their year-end meeting on Dec. 30.
Street Superintendent Paul Dorwart presented photos of the water tower repair project for council to review. He also noted the sander has been repaired. An asbestos waiver was obtained from the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources in regards to drinking water. The street superintendent received his wastewater collection and small systems certification.
Setting up a skating pond was approved through the city’s insurance. The street superintendent ordered new material for the loungers at the pool, at a price between $600 to $800. Street Superintendent Dorwart contacted DENR in regards to the burn site and rubble site. The street superintendent finalized his report, noting his search for a dump truck. He presented quotes to council
members, who suggested the street superintendent search for a dump truck through federal surplus or state sales.
