Board discusses travel, tourism, projects, bylaws

The board of directors of the Chamberlain-Oacoma Area Chamber of Commerce met via Zoom on Tuesday, April 21.
Due to COVID-19, it was noted there is presently little or no travel or tourism. Chamber Operations Manager Angi Hanzlik noted the Mitchell Chamber of Commerce initiated an idea to turn Tourism Week into “Spirit Week.” Each town could celebrate the State of South Dakota with a week of themes May 4-8.
Chamber Operations Manager Hanzlik asked the board if there were any specific projects they had in mind as ways to support the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The chamber will continue to post information in regards to resources and will continue selling Chamber Bucks to help support the local economy.
