Members of the board of Brule County Commissioners met Tuesday, Feb. 18, in the commissioners’ room of the Brule County Courthouse in Chamberlain.
The floor was opened for public comments, of which none were heard.
Highway Superintendent Mike Schlaffman presented warranty information on a new International and John Deere tractor. Both carry a two year warranty and after that, there is an option to purchase a power train warranty at $1,200 a year from both companies.
He also checked into tractors on a lease to own program. The highway superintendent found with this program, over the five years, it would add an additional $5,000 in interest to the cost of ownership. He also obtained another price from Butler Machinery on a Massey Ferguson at $153,998.40 without loader. All these are loader ready.
