Brule County Commissioners –
State auditor, equalization director provide information, discuss CARES Act funding
By Janet L. Petrak
The board of Brule County Commissioners met Tuesday, July 7, in the west community room of the Brule County Courthouse in Chamberlain.
A portion of the meeting was earmarked for public comment, of which none was heard.
State Auditor Toby Qualm attended the meeting, letting the board know they are working on the 2018 and 2019 audit of financial statements. The process actually began back in April while working from home, the state auditor shared. He hopes to be done in three weeks. State Auditor Qualm presented what the audit objectives are and left the engagement letter which required signatures.
He urged the commissioners to address any concerns they have as the audit progresses.
