Members of the 911 Advisory Board met Tuesday, Feb. 18, in the commissioners’ room of the Brule County Courthouse in Chamberlain.
911 Co-Coordinator Katheryn Benton reported on the generators for Chamberlain and Kimball. She continues to work with PowerCom as they are still looking for more information. The determination needs to be made if it is an internal generator or an external one. The external one has issues with cold and heat. The co-coordinator said the information she was given needs to be updated and changed. She would like the generators in place before summer as summer is “notorious” for power outages.
Another issue is Kimball has two towers. The main tower is the one with the “old stuff” on it and that’s the one on Main Street.
The other tower, Law East, is on Aurora-Brule Rural Water’s tower and that could require a second generator. After discussion, it was noted they could switch over to the main tower and run with Fire East. They decided to seek one generator each for Chamberlain and Kimball.
