State Placers

The Class A and B State Wrestling Tournaments were held Feb. 27-29 at the Denny Sanford
Premier Center in Sioux Falls.
Wrestlers from Chamberlain, Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes and Lyman participated. Placing were, top row, from left, Spencer Hanson of Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes at 160, second; Wyatt Talbott of Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes at 132, third and Bryson Muirhead of Lyman at 113, fourth.
Bottom Row, left to right, Chase Varilek of Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes at 120, fifth; Kasen Konstanz of Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes at 106, sixth and Levi Nightingale of Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes at 170, sixth. Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes captured seventh place in Class B and Lyman was 27th.
The Chamberlain Cubs Wrestling Squad placed five individuals at the Class A tournament, bottom left photo, from left, back, Remington Rossow at 160, fourth; Jasiah Thompson at 182, fourth; Nash Hutmacher at 285, first; Gabe Skustad at 132, third and Dominic Santiago at 120, seventh. Coaches represented were Assistant Coach Brody Mathey, front left, Head Coach John Donovan and Assistant Coach Lucas Giese. Hutmacher finished out his career with his 73rd straight pin in the finals and his fourth consecutive state championship. He won the Dale Westberg Pinning Trophy and was also named co-Most Valuable Wrestler of the state tournament along with Eli Kadoun of Sioux Falls Roosevelt. The Cubs nailed down sixth place in the team competition for Class A.
