Donovan Enlists In South Dakota National Guard

Scotland Donovan of Chamberlain was sworn in as the newest member of the South Dakota Army National Guard’s 730th Area Support Medical Company during an enlistment ceremony at the Military Entrance Processing Station in Sioux Falls, Aug. 3. Donovan, a senior at Chamberlain High School, enlisted under a program which provides 50 percent state tuition reduction, federal tuition assistance, GI Bill and healthcare benefits. Donovan will attend basic combat training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, followed by advanced individual training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and will be assigned as a combat medic at the Vermillion-based 730th ASMC when she returns.
