Shirley Mae Triggs

Funeral services for Shirley Mae Triggs, 98, of Rapid City, SD, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, at the First Congregational Church of Rapid City, SD.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the First Congregational Church of Rapid City, SD.
Shirley Mae Triggs died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020.
Shirley Mae Triggs was born Aug. 15, 1921, at Armour, SD.
She graduated from high school in Platte, SD, and attended Yankton College in Yankton, SD.
In 1941, Shirley married Lester Triggs.
They lived in California and Texas during World War II.
Shirley and Lester lived in Platte, SD, and moved to Chamberlain, SD, to start a family. In 1967 the family moved to Rapid City, SD.
Shirley was active in the Rapid City Hospital Auxiliary, Chapter BF, PEO, Eastern Star and the First Congregational Church.
“Only, your Great Grandma Shirley could convince a doctor to write a prescription that allowed her to eat cookies in her room.”
Grateful for having shared her life are her three sons, Douglas Triggs and wife, Amy of Boulder, CO, David Triggs of Boise, Idaho, and Scott Triggs and wife, Vicki of Rapid City, SD; her five grandchildren, Erinn Looney-Triggs of Moab, Utah; Tucker Triggs of Boulder, CO, Piper Triggs of Boulder, CO, Keri James of Piedmont, SD, and Roberta Baldwin of Piedmont, SD, and making preparations for a lifetime of Great Grandma Shirley stories are her six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Triggs; her parents; a sister, Beverly Wendorff and husband, Harold and a nephew, Bradley Wendorff.
Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home of Rapid City, SD, was in charge of arrangements.
