​Shirley Ann Kopke, 89, of Calumet, MI, formerly of Chamberlain, SD, died Feb. 14, 2020, in Calumet, MI, where she had been a patient at Gardenview Assisted Living/Memory Care for over four years.
No services are scheduled.
Shirley Ann Kopke has been cremated and her ashes will be interred at Riverview Cemetery of Chamberlain, SD.
Shirley Ann Kopke was born Oct. 8, 1930, at McIntosh, SD, to James and Grace (Lugauer) Olson.
She attended schools in Morristown, SD, and Aberdeen, SD. She graduated from Presentation School of Nursing in Aberdeen, SD, in 1951.
She married Chadwick E. Kopke Jan. 10, 1953, in Mobridge, SD.
Shirley worked as a registered nurse at Community Bailey Hospital of Chamberlain, SD, until 1972, when she and Chad purchased the Chamberlain Coast-to-Coast store, retiring in 1996.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter-in-law, Diane Kopke of Michigan; granddaughter, Nicole of Texas; grandson, David and wife, Becky of Michigan and three great grandchildren, Anthony, Michael and Isla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chad Kopke; her sons, Marc Kopke and Scott Kopke; her parents, James and Grace Olson; a brother and sister-in-law, James Olson and wife, Fern of Aberdeen, SD, and a sister and brother-in-law, Ellen Shevlin and husband, Robert of Mitchell, SD.
Hickey Funeral Chapel of Chamberlain, SD, will be in charge of arrangements.
