Funeral services for Sherwood F. Hawk, 63, of Fort Thompson, SD, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Sherwood’s Garage (Lori Bishop’s Place) in Fort Thompson, SD.
Wake services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Sherwood’s Garage (Lori Bishop’s Place) in Fort Thompson, SD.
Burial will be at the Lakeview Cemetery of Fort Thompson, SD.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the family requests no food be brought to the services.
Sherwood F. Hawk died June 26, 2020, at Sanford University of South Dakota Medical Center at Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 63.
Sherwood F. Hawk was born May 18, 1957, at Chamberlain, SD, to George “Albert” Hawk and Ethel Marie Clark.
He attended grade school at Fort Thompson, SD, and then Crow Creek High School at Stephan, SD.
He was united in marriage to Janet Pease and to that union, three children were born – Shannon, Susie and Shane.
Sherwood later married Roberta Isburg. They made their home in North Dakota and Montana. After Roberta passed away, Sherwood returned to Crow Creek where he made his home with Lori Bishop. Two children,
Caitlin and Calvin, were born to that union.
He loved going to demolition derbys, mud runs and rodeos.
He was always willing to help anyone.
His greatest joy was spending time with Carter Lee and Caitlin.
Grateful for having shared his life are his four sons, Maurice Rencountre, Shane Pease, Dustin Hawk and Calvin Hawk; four daughters, Shannon Pease, Susie Pease, Renee Runkle and Caitlin Hawk; four sisters, Rozelle Lockwood and husband, Darrel, Dormalee Pease, Delilah Hawk and Carole Seeking Land; four brothers, Melvin Hawk and wife, Mary, Velsworth Hawk and wife, Pat, William Hawk and Ray Hawk; a special grandson, Carter Hawk; many grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. Hawk and Ethel Clark; two sisters, Jeanie L. Hawk-Hickey and Myrna McDaniels and six brothers, Clifford Hawk, Curtis Hawk, Earl Hawk, Allen Hawk, Alvin
Hawk and Everette Wind.
Hickey Funeral Chapel of Chamberlain, SD, will be in charge of arrangements.
