Robert 'Bob' E. McCord
March 12, 1937 - April 11, 2020

​A private, family funeral service for Robert “Bob” E. McCord, 83, of White Lake, SD, will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of White Lake, SD.
Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery of White Lake, SD.
Robert “Bob” E. McCord died Saturday, April 11, 2020, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD.
Robert “Bob” E. McCord was born March 12, 1937, at Stickney, SD, to George and Barbara (Wolf) McCord.
He attended country school.
Bob was drafted into the United States Army in 1961.
He married Joan Niles on Nov. 23, 1960, in Plankinton, SD.
After serving the Army in Fairbanks, Alaska, he was honorably discharged in 1963 and returned to White Lake, SD.
Upon returning, he worked for the Farmers Co-op and later began farming.
He served on several boards in the community, including the South Dakota State Training School and Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service Office.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in White Lake, SD.
Bob was devoted to being a Santa’s helper for over 45 years.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Joan McCord of White Lake, SD; two sons, Eugene McCord and Donny Baca of Las Vegas, Nevada, and James McCord and wife, Stephanie of White Lake, SD; a daughter, Caroline Mild Kahre (foreign exchange student from Sweden); four granddaughters, Sidney McCord, Josie McCord, Rylee McCord and Alli McCord; a brother, Lyle McCord and wife, Lois of White Lake, SD; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Niles, Kathy McCord and Margie Fagen and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jean Ann McCord and a brother, Gary McCord.
Bittner Funeral Chapel of Mitchell, SD, was in charge of arrangements.
