Margaret Alice Robey died Sunday, March 29, 2020, at Avera Brady Health and Rehab of Mitchell, SD.
Margaret Alice Robey was born Nov. 20, 1933, at Mitchell, SD, to Ernest and Alice (Bradberry) Giese.
She attended school in Mitchell, SD, graduating in 1952. Margaret then attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, SD, and graduated in 1954.
She taught kindergarten in Watertown, SD, Great Falls, MT, and Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska. As a United States Air Force family, “her feet touched all 50 states!”
Margaret returned to Mitchell, SD, in 1972 to raise her four kids. She worked at 3M Company for 13 years and Toshiba America for 12 years, before retiring in 1998.
Margaret enjoyed visiting with family and friends and watching all of her grandkids grow up.
She loved watching high school sports and music events.
Her hobbies included reading and arts and crafts.
Margaret also authored three family history books.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Dawn Wheeler and husband, Greg of Sioux Falls, SD, Rick Robey and wife, Laurie of Mitchell,
SD, Dana Freeman and husband, Dan of Omaha, NE, and Derek Robey and wife, Kim of Sioux Falls, SD; brothers, Ernie Giese of Portland, Oregon, Don Giese of Chamberlain, SD, and Roger Giese of Willmar, MN; sisters, Donna Lou Barnhart of The Villages, Florida, and Betty Bennett of Green Bay,WI; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Alice Giese; a brother, Billy Giese; a sister, Karen Ofelt; sisters-in-law, Barb Giese and Jan Giese; a brother-in-law, Richard Barnhart and a nephew, Billy Giese.
Bittner Funeral Chapel of Mitchell, SD, will be in charge of arrangements.
