A service to celebrate the life of Lori Ann Geersen, 56, of Linn Valley, Kansas, will be announced at a later date.
Lori Ann Geersen died April 4, 2020, at Menorah Medical Center of Overland Park, Kansas.
Lori Ann Geersen was born April 23, 1963, at Martin, SD, to Gary and Helen Geersen.
She graduated from Chamberlain High School of Chamberlain, SD, and attended Yankton College of Yankton, SD, obtaining a degree in criminal justice.
Moving back to Chamberlain, SD, she worked in dispatch for the police department, later becoming a Brule County deputy sheriff for a few years before moving on to training for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in
Quantico, VA, becoming an agent stationed in Kansas City. This was a job she loved but had to retire after ten years as she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
Grateful for having shared her life are her partner, Cindy Smith of Linn Valley, Kansas; her father, Gary Geersen and wife, Bobbi of Mesa,AZ; her mother, Helen Jorgensen and husband, Bob of Chamberlain, SD; sisters, Vickie Miles and Kim of Broomfield, CO, and Dawn Matesi and husband, Bryon of Mesa,AZ; a nephew, Justin Pickner of Denver, CO; a niece, Katie Shanline and husband, Jeff of Boulder, CO, and aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert and Helen Geersen and Billie and Olive Burke; an uncle and aunt, Neil and Monica Geersen; uncles, Bob Burke, Howard Burke and Ed Burke and Lori’s children (pets), kitties, Sara and Max and dogs, Milo and Maddie.
Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory of Kansas was in charge of arrangements.
