Linda Cullen

Linda Cullen

Do you remember her?
If you dined at the Rainbow Café in Chamberlain, SD, in the early 1960s you were probably waited on by a tall slender brunette. She was the owner’s niece from Reliance, SD, who graduated from Reliance High School with a class of 14 in 1962. She was a cheerleader for the Reliance Longhorns during the era of Coach Darrell Cadwell and outstanding players – Randy Fletcher and Larry King.
She attended Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD, and graduated with a major in English in 1966. She taught English in Irene, SD, for a year before giving birth to a daughter, Kelly. She also had two additional daughters,
Christine and Amanda.
During her younger years, she lived in Nebraska and Iowa. Later she lived in Texas and California. After her children were grown, she had a career as department director, sales executive and as a project manager. Later on, she cared for Amanda’s two daughters while “Mandy” pursued her career.
Always quick with a smile and kind words, she made friends easily, no matter where she lived.
Linda Cullen passed away on Dec. 3, 2019, at the age of 75.
She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
She would have been 76 on June 5.
