​Funeral mass for Harriet Jean Dalldorf, 77, of Arvada, CO, formerly of Platte, SD, was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Platte, SD, with Father Grant Lacey and Deacon Joe Tegethoff officiating.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2020, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Platte, SD, with a wake service at 7 p.m.
A committal service followed the funeral mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery of Platte, SD.
Harriet Jean Dalldorf died Tuesday,March 10, 2020, at Arbor View Nursing Home of Arvada, CO.
Harriet Jean Dalldorf was born June 6, 1942, on the family farm in Pleasant Grove Township of Brule County, South Dakota, to John and Marie (Gjoraas) Gustad.
She attended Pipal Country School and graduated from Platte High School of Platte, SD, in 1960.
On June 15, 1960, Harriet was united in marriage to Arnold David Dalldorf at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Kimball, SD.
She was employed at the Platte Care Center of Platte, SD, as a certified nursing assistant and activities aide.
An active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, Harriet also enjoyed bowling, crocheting, quilting and joining in the activities of the Red Hat Society.
Grateful for having shared her life are her five children, Patricia “Patti” Cavallero and husband, Chick of Severance, CO, James “Jim” Dalldorf and wife, Shannon of Loveland, CO, Jacqueline “Jackie”McCann and husband, Clyde of Severance, CO, John Dalldorf and wife, Nida of Summerset, SD, and Penny Overweg of Mitchell, SD; 11 grandchildren, Ricky Dalldorf, Scott Dalldorf, Nicholas McCann, Nathan McCann, Jenna McCann, Charlie Dalldorf, Evelyn Dalldorf, Tanner Overweg, Kassidy Overweg, Parker Overweg and Dawson Overweg; two step-grandchildren, Casey Cavallero and Kelly Cavallero; step-great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Gustad of Platte, SD; two sisters, Joan Falor of Platte, SD, and Janet McConnel of Sioux Falls, SD, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Dalldorf on Dec. 30, 2012; a step-great grandson, Leo; her parents, John and Marie Gustad; a sister, Beverly Munger; parents-in-law,William and Gertrude Dalldorf; two brothers-in-law, Billy Dalldorf and Joe Dalldorf and a sister-in-law, Anna Reimer.
Mount Funeral Home of Platte, SD, was in charge of arrangements.
