Graveside services for Gary Lewis Walking Bull, Sr., 43, of Fort Thompson, SD, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at Lakeview Cemetery of Fort Thompson, SD.
Wake services were held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2020, at the Priscilla Touche residence of Fort Thompson, SD.
Gary Lewis Walking Bull, Sr. died June 16, 2020, at Fort Thompson, SD, at the age of 43.
Gary Lewis Walking Bull, Sr. was born May 16, 1977, at Chamberlain, SD, to Leslie Ross and Georgianne Walking Bull.
He attended school in Crow Creek, Chamberlain, SD, and Flandreau, SD, where he graduated from Flandreau Indian School.
He worked various construction jobs throughout the state.
He liked the New England Patriots football team and the Duke Blue Devils.
He enjoyed watching movies, playing horseshoes, dominoes, dice and cards.
He was a loving and caring person and was always willing to help anyone in need.
He loved to tease and joke around with his friends and family. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Justin Walking Bull Reed, Garrett Walking Bull, Lovereen Walking Bull, Gary Walking Bull, Jr. and Kaden Fleury; brothers and sisters, John Walking Bull, Lesley
“Daughter” Ross, Dennis “Wheats” Ross, Bryant “Spud” Ross, Ursula Ross and Cameron “Sis” Ross; his Hunka Mothers, Sandra Dion and Marilyn Fallis; his godmother, Deb Attakai; his Uncle Elroy and Aunt Priscilla and many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, friends he called “Bros” and blood relatives too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgianne Walking Bull; his dad, Corky Ross; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Walking Bull; his paternal grandmother, Frances Ross and uncles, Raphael, Johnny, Lee, Mike and Wayne.
Hickey Funeral Chapel of Chamberlain, SD, was in charge of arrangements.
