Private funeral services for Ellen Lois Miller, 68, of Seneca, SD, will be held.
Ellen Lois Miller died June 20, 2020, at Dougherty House in Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 68.
Ellen Lois Miller was born Feb. 13, 1952, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre, SD, to Henrickus (Hank) and Lois (Adams) Krull.
She attended Beth Eden country school and later graduated from Harrold High School of Harrold, SD, before attending Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD.
On Aug. 19, 1972, she married David Arthur Miller at the Harrold Methodist Church in Harrold, SD. They moved to Eagle, SD, where daughter, Reenstine (Tina) Miller was born. Shortly after, they moved to Akaska,
SD, only to return to Eagle, SD, before the birth of their son, David Arthur Miller II. They later moved to Kimball, SD, where she resided until her divorce in 1988.
She then moved to Mitchell, SD, returning to Kimball, SD, after David’s passing, where she resided until returning to Northern State University of Aberdeen, SD, in 1995. There she earned a degree in business management and business marketing.
She then moved to Pierre, SD, where she lived until meeting Wayne Zeigler. She lived with Wayne on his family farm just south of Seneca, SD, until her passing.
Ellen was highly involved in head start, PTA, ABATE and various other community groups.
She was an avid amateur genealogist and arts and craft enthusiast.
Grateful for having shared her life are her long-time partner, Wayne Zeigler; his son, Daryn Ziegler and wife, Kari and their children, Garret and Treyson of Seneca, SD; a daughter, Reenstine (Tina) Johanna Miller, Tina’s
son, Martin and stepchildren, Andrew Ross and Alisha Cole of Hartford, SD, and a son, David (Rocky) Arthur Miller II of Hartford, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henrickus Geelko Krull and Lois Yuma (Adams) Krull; a brother, Clarence Krull; a sister, Helen King and a son-in-law, Martin A. Swanson.
Miller Funeral Home of Sioux Falls, SD, was in charge of arrangements.
