​Funeral services for Dorothy M. Strande, 97, of Rapid City, SD, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at South Canyon Lutheran Church of Rapid City, SD.
Visitation was held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home of Rapid City, SD.
Burial was at the Black Hills National Cemetery of Sturgis, SD.
Dorothy M. Strande died March 6, 2020, at the age of 97.
Dorothy M. Strande was born Sept. 10, 1922, at Madison, SD, to Joseph and Alice Morrison.
On Jan. 9, 1942, she married Arthur L. Strande.
They were married 52 years before Arthur passed away.
Dorothy was a member of South Canyon Lutheran, P.E.O., Beta Sigma Phi and Altrusa.
She kept her mind sharp playing bridge.
Grateful for having shared her life are her son, James Strande and wife, Jeri of Cottonwood, AZ; her daughters, JoAnn Evenson and husband, Eric of Ahwahnee, CA, Beverly Koenig and husband, Greg of Arvada, CO, and Alice Bunker and husband, Mike of Reliance, SD; nine grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and special friends, Phyllis and Bill Williams of Pahrump, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Strande; her parents, Joseph and Alice Morrison, four brothers and a sister.
Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home of Rapid City, SD, was in charge of arrangements.
