Graveside services for Clinton “Clint” LaVerne Nankivel, 59, of Pierre, SD, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Holy Angel Cemetery of Presho, SD.
Clinton “Clint” LaVerne Nankivel died Wednesday, April 22, 2020, in Pierre, SD.
Clinton “Clint” LaVerne Nankivel was born Oct. 8, 1960, at Kadoka, SD, to Wayne and Dolores (Abrahamson) Nankivel.
He grew up in Presho, SD, and graduated from Lyman High School of Presho, SD.
Clint was a carpenter and worked various jobs.
He was married to Barbara Vermeer in Valley Springs, SD, on April 22, 1989.
They lived in various places over the years, including Presho, SD, Belvidere, SD, Williston, ND, Sioux Falls, SD, and Pierre, SD.
Clint was a cowboy and enjoyed horseback riding and ranching. He also liked fishing, carpentry and country western music.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Barbara Nankivel of Pierre, SD; his children, Jacob Nankivel and wife, Kasha and their children, and Myrriha Roush and husband, Corey; a self-proclaimed daughter, Jackalynn Schuster and husband, Tyson and their children; his mother, Dolores Cronin; his sister-in-law, Janice Nankivel; his siblings, Don Nankivel and wife, Rhonda; Joel Nankivel and wife, Tracey and Charles Nankivel; an aunt, Faye and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Nankivel, Sr.; his stepfather, Frank Cronin; a brother, Wayne Nankivel, Jr.; a niece, Amanda Nankivel and his horse, Jewel.
Isburg Funeral Chapel of Pierre, SD, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be sent to the family via the funeral home at 439 South Pierre Street, Pierre, SD 57501 and will be used to help cover funeral expenses.
Those not able to attend services were welcome to take part in the “Together In Spirit” option by e-mailing their name and a message of support to email@example.com. The message was placed on a heart that was attached to a chair at the service. The family was able to read the heartfelt message and knew that you were together with them in spirit.
