E911 Advisory Board—
Members discuss backup generators, discuss sonic wall
By Janet L. Petrak
Members of the E911 Advisory Board met Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the commissioners’ room of the Brule County Courthouse in Chamberlain.
Emergency Manager Katheryn Benton was not present but relayed via phone, information about backup generators for the repeaters. She has not secured any costs yet but has permission from Chamberlain City Engineer Greg Powell to place them in one of their buildings in Chamberlain. It will be an external generator which will require a propane tank.
A motion was passed allowing the emergency manager to secure costs of the backup generators for both Chamberlain and Kimball. 911 monies will pay for the equipment.
